About us
The Real Fresh Chip Co is a truly family business with Malcolm and Arlene Wood at the helm and ably assisted by their sons, Nathan and Matthew. Their staff might not all be ‘family’ but their long service and dedication to the Wood family speaks volumes about their relationship with Arlene, Malcolm and their sons.
Malcolm and Arlene’s background is steeped in Fresh Produce Supply to the Catering industry. They have built a formidable reputation as suppliers of integrity and quality who always put their customers first, no matter the time or day. Operating 6 days a week from 6am, there is always a friendly voice at the end of the telephone to take the orders and deal with queries. Deliveries are to suit the customer and always with a happy smile.
The business is based in Glenrothes, Fife, only minutes from the main arterial routes South, North and West. A delivery of chips is always just hours away for their customers, no matter where they are. The unit is equipped with the latest technology and equipment to ensure nothing is wasted, even the potato peel. The Peel Tech system keeps the drains spotless and there will never be unhappy ‘neighbours’ complaining about the smell of starch-blocked drains – a common occurrence at establishments who prep their own chips and potatoes
Malcolm is a dedicated environmentalist having won several prestigious national awards for his innovation and commitment to Food Waste and Recycling effectively. He invented the Peel Tech revolutionary innovative filtration system which helps food processors comply with the UK Waste Regulations regarding drainage pollution. He is in regular talks globally to share his technology and vision.
It’s not just prepped chips that Malcolm and Arlene supply from Glenrothes. Keeping their passion for quality and service in the Fresh Produce sector thriving, they have also founded Fresh Express Produce. Whenever they can they source locally and have built long lasting relationships with local growers and farmers. Malcolm regularly visits suppliers discussing trends and planting and sowing plans to enable him to continue to deliver the very best produce for the rapidly growing Scottish culinary scene.
